1. Briefing
We will start cycling through some minor climbs in the first kilometers right after Calpe.
The first climb (Bernia) will kick off after crossing the village of Benissa (Km 15). Long and easy ascent, with beautiful landscape and very little traffic followed by a long descend to the village of Xaló.
We will then head back to Altea, we will find some minor climbs along the way.
2. climbs
❚ Km 28 ⇝ 43 ❚ 15km meandering rural road with some easy first kilometers but with some sections that will go up to 9%. Beautiful views of Bernia, with limited traffic. The most challenging part comes in the last stretch with gradients up to 17%.
3. TRAFFIC
Expect heavy traffic the first kilometers as we ride along the national road. We will have less dense traffic once we cross the town of Callosa d’en Sarria.
On our way back to Altea, we will be biking through the national road between Calp and Altea. Expect some heavy traffic and some dangerous points (unfortunately, there is no alternative road).
4. ROAD QUALITY
The quality of the road is very good throughout the whole track.
