Routes // Altea

We will start gaining altitude from the first kilometres, the first climb of the circuit will be Sa Creueta. Gradients will increase as we pass the town of Callosa d’en Sarrià.
We will then ride through very calm roads with some short climbs along the way, before attacking a second challenge of the circuit; Coll de Garga.
This hill has no remarkable difficulties but its length could put us in trouble if we start too fast. Once we reach the top of Coll de Garga, we will start a long descend through an excellent road that will bring us to the town of Orba.
On our way back to Altea we will be riding towards the coast, with no significant climbs.
❚ Km 12 ⇝ 30 ❚ In this climb we will be riding the same road as the well-known climb of Coll de Rates (one of the most frequented hills in the region) until the town of Tàrbena. Around 18 km climb with an average incline of 3%. We will start gaining altitude once we cross the village of Callosa d’en Sarrià.
❚ Km 78 ⇝ 84 ❚ Twisting 6 km stretch with an average of 6,5%, with sections going up to 8%. Rural road with almost no traffic and with good tarmac. On the top you will find a nice restaurant worth a stop (at least for a deserved coffee).
Expect heavy traffic the first kilometers as we ride along the national road. We will have less dense traffic once we cross the town of Callosa d’en Sarria.
On our way back to Altea, we will be biking through the national road between Calp and Altea. Expect some heavy traffic and some dangerous points (unfortunately, there is no alternative road).
The quality of the road is very good through the whole track.

We love our region and we are always willing to share our favorites spots. Enjoy the ride!
