Routes // Alteas

We will be biking along the coast in the first half part of the circuit. The first serious hill will come after km 25; Puig de la Llorença, two times end of stage of La Vuelta in the past 5 years witnessing the victory of Chris Froome (2017) and Tom Dumoulin (2015).
We will be then riding across the nice seaside of Xàbia, with another easy climb to Cap de La Nau starting at km 40 and a second one to Cap de Sant Antoni at Km 60.
We will be then heading to the interior towns of Teulada and Benissa. At km 90 we will attack the second challenge of the circuit; Bernia.
❚ Km 27 ⇝ 31 ❚ Short 3 km climb but enough to challenge your forces. The toughest sections are the start and the final kilometers, with steep gradients of 20%. The road is wide and in excellent conditions. It is a residential area so expects some traffic during the climb and descend (in winter period is rather calm).
❚ Km 90 ⇝ 101 ❚ Beutiful 12 km climb connecting the towns of Xaló and Benissa. Twisting rural road with a 3.5% average incline with some sections with gradients up to 10%.
Expect heavy traffic the first 25 km as we ride across the national road and coastal roads. Be careful with some dangerous points in the national road between the towns of Altea and Calpe.
We will have less dense traffic once we leave Xàbia.
The quality of the road is very good through the whole track.
The road of Bernia has some segments where the pavement is rather worn out.

We love our region and we are always willing to share our favorites spots. Enjoy the ride!
