Routes // Calp

We will be gaining altitude in the first kilometers, with some easy climbs. At km 25, once we cross the village of Parcent, we will be facing the first hill; Coll de Rates, one of the most frequented ascents of the region.
Once we reach the top of Coll de Rates we will have ahead 5 km of descend with some short climbs that will bring us to the town of Tàrbena, where we will attack the second col of the day; Sa Creueta (km 45).
We will then have some time to recover with a nice and almost 20 km long descend until we reach the town of Callosa d’en Sarrià.
Ahead we will face a first climb to the town of Castell de Guadalest (km 73), followed by a descend to the beautiful reservoir. We will then face a final climb that will bring us back to the village of Castell de Guadalest.
❚ Km 26 ⇝ 32 ❚ One of the most popular climbs of the region. 6 km stretch with an average that doesn’t go beyond 6%. This is the shorter version of the climb, the longer starts in the opposite side of the hill, in the village of Callosa d’en Sarrià.
❚ Km 40 ⇝ 45 ❚ Short and easy 5 km climb which could be considered as a continuation of Coll de Rates. Starts in the town of Tàrbena, riding through a rural road with limited traffic.
We should expect less traffic once we cross the town of Benissa. Special mention to the national road that we will be riding between Altea and Calpe (km 110 to 115), expect some heavy traffic and some dangerous points (unfortunately, there is no alternative road).
The quality of the road is very good through the whole circuit.

We love our region and we are always willing to share our favorites spots. Enjoy the ride!
