Routes // Calp

First climb (Bernia) after crossing the village of Benissa (Km 15). Long and easy ascent, with beautiful landscape and very few traffic followed by a long descend to the village of Xaló.
The second challenge of the circuit will be Coll de Rates. The ascend will begin at km 47 right after Alcalalí. We will be climbing one of the most well-known climbs of the region with perfect road, excellent views, and a cyclist atmosphere.
❚ Km 16 ⇝ 31 ❚ 15km meandering rural road with some easy first kilometers but with some sections that will go up to 9%. Beautiful views of Bernia, with limited traffic. The most challenging part comes in the last stretch with gradients up to 17%.
❚ 47 Km ⇝ 53 ❚ One of the most popular hills of the region. 6 km climb with an average that doesn’t go beyond 6%. This is the shorter version of the climb, the longer starts on the opposite side of the hill, in the village of Callosa d’en Sarrià.
Expect heavy traffic the first kilometers as we ride along the national road. We will have less dense traffic once we cross the town of Callosa d’en Sarria.
On our way back to Calp, we will be biking through the national road between Altea and Calp. Expect some heavy traffic and some dangerous points (unfortunately, there is no alternative road).
The quality of the road is very good through the whole track.

We love our region and we are always willing to share our favorites spots. Enjoy the ride!
