1. Briefing

The first and only climb of the circuit will be Coll de Rates; we should start easy, we will need all the forces to make it to the top in good conditions. This is one of the most frequented climbs from the region, even though the shorter version starting in Parcent (on the opposite side of the valley) is the most well-known climb.

Once we reach the top we will have a nice descent that will bring us to the town of Parcent, cycling across a very nice valley through nice local towns.

We will face again some short climbs once we leave Lliber (km 51). After Benissa we will have ahead a long and nice descend overlooking the Mediterranean coast.

2. climbs

❚ Km 20 ⇝ 37 ❚ This is the longest version of the well-known climb of Coll de Rates. A total of 18.5 Km starting in the village of Callosa d’en Sarrià with an average of 2.2%. The most difficult part starts after Bolulla, 13km before arriving to the top.

3. TRAFFIC

Expect heavy traffic the first kilometers as we ride along the national road between Calpe and Altea. We will have less dense traffic once we cross the town of Callosa d’en Sarrià.

4. ROAD QUALITY

The quality of the road is very good through the whole track.
